SUPERSPORT United, the Absa Premiership defending champions, have their hearts set on winning the fifth edition of Mopani Executive Mayor's Charity Cup and keeping the silverware for good on Sunday.
The one-day tournament is the brainchild of Mopani District Municipality and will be played at NkowaNkowa Stadium.
In the first match Mamelodi Sundowns play Vodacom League side Dundee United at 10am and two hours later Matsatsantsa a Pitori will take on Dynamos. The final will be played at 4pm.
Should United win the trophy on Sunday, they will own it after back-to-back wins in 2007 and last year.
United spokesperson David Skosana said yesterday: "We are aware that Dynamos are our hoodoo club but we will not allow them to stand in our way.
"We will bring our best squad - including the Limpopo-born guys Thabo Mongalo, Jabulane Maluluke and Hlompho Kekana - to ensure the people of Limpopo quench their thirst for professional football."
United will also rely on the likes of Anthony Laffor and Ricardo Katza. But they may not get an easy ride to the final against Jacob Sakala's Dynamos, who feature capable players such as Klaas Galane, Allan Kamanga and Thabo Mogalushi.
Sundowns' Alex "Gold Finger" Shakoane said they will use the tournament to mobilise their supporters to return to the stadium.
"We have resolved to make this tournament our priority to ensure that we display what will happen in the next season," Shakoane said.
