Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
ALL indications are that IFP president Mangosuthu Buthelezi, pictured, will still be president of his party when it contests the 2011 local government elections.
Buthelezi's term of office comes to an end when the party meets for its conference later this year.
But the party's youth wing, which had previously indicated it wanted Buthelezi out, is now divided with some of its members apologising to the ailing leader while dissidents have been suspended from the party.
Party elders have told Sowetan the party's elective conference "will not dwell on the divisive issue of succession".
