FORMER Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvete has flown into the nest of Moroka Swallows in a bid to resurrect his international soccer career.

A source close to Swallows said: "It is true that we have been negotiating with Nomvete. We have agreed on a two-year contract.

"Bhele (Nomvete) has joined us as a free agent."

Nomvete, who is on record as saying he would like to reclaim the Bafana Bafana jersey ahead of the 2010 World Cup, could not be reached for comment yesterday.

Some of the clubs that Nomvete has played for include African Wanderers, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Udinese (Italy), Djurgardens (Sweden) and Alborg (Denmark).

Nomvete arrives here barely a week after The Dube Birds off-loaded nine players, among them dSandile Ndlovu and Goodman Hlongwane.

The others are Cecil Oersen, Alton Meiring, Siphesile Ngobese, Brent Geyer, Sibusiso Themba, Edward Malinga, Fabian McCarthy and Sydney Plaatjies.

Oersen has rejoined Bloemfontein Celtic, Plaatjies Mamelodi Sundowns and Themba is now with Mpumalanga Black Aces, who will be playing in the Premiership next season.
