ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe said yesterday that winning the elections was not the question, but how many votes his party would secure.
"Everybody knows that the ANC will win, even the opposition parties have admitted it. The only aspect that is missing now is if we would be able to get a two-thirds majority," he said after casting his vote.
Mantashe voted at Freeway Park Primary School near Boksburg. He arrived at the polling station at about 7.30am with his entourage, including his wife.
Mantashe said: "The ANC has done its work and the results will prove that. We put so much effort and energy into our campaign. "
