AmaZulu at war against Birds

Any man, no matter how bankrupt they are in bravery and strength, would do anything in their power to defend their homestead.

That is a simple message from Moroka Swallows' strongman, Goodman Mazibuko, who warned AmaZulu, prior to their visit to Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg this afternoon. Kick off time is 3.30pm.

AmaZulu have of late been as hot as iron.

Mazibuko said that playing at home gives them the advantage of getting to know the field well.

AmaZulu could not be reached for comment. But it must be said that their current style of play poses a threat to any club.

When you think you are all over them, an almost new look club appears from nowhere and burst into serious battle.

Just before you know what is happening, already you are wounded and the man who ushers them to war, Clive Barker, is by then flipping his wings.

Back to tonight's game, AmaZulu showed the spirit of neighbourliness towards Maritzburg United by donating three points. United has no one but their neighbours AmaZulu, Thanda Zulu Royals and Lamontville Golden Arrows to bank on for help. They are facing the chop.

So AmaZulu's loss to them was not a train smash. They shared spoils with Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs after those zero all drawn matches.

AmaZulu fearlessly walked past Absa Premiership log leaders SuperSport United with a 2-1 victory and showed no mercy last week to relegation candidates Bloemfontein Celtic with a 2-0 defeat.

Their realistic fight for the top eight bracket begins this afternoon against Swallows.
