In a dramatic twist Dancer's Daughter's owner Graham Beck has instructed the Justin Snaith stable to enter his horse in the Durban July and to forget about taking her to the Breeders Cup in America in October.
Jonathan Snaith said Beck prefers to run his horses in South Africa and therefore the July will be their main target at the end of the winter season.
"We have no problem with that. Most punters would welcome the decision to see Dancer's Daughter and Pocket Power in action once again."
Dancer's Daughter today embarked on a three-race campaign in Johannesburg. The races that trainer Justin Snaith targets are the Empress Club Stakes on February 28, the Horse Chestnut Stakes on April 4 and the Champions Challenge on April 25.
Dancer's Daughter has a lightly raced season in Cape Town competing in three races, and the Snaith stable feels it would be a waste to rest her now. Trainer Geoff Woodruff has agreed to stable the champion mare.
After the Champions Challenge she will head to Durban to prepare for the Durban July. - Sapa
