Stars face new chapter

With their most notable striker Diyo Sibisi is practically out of the door, Free State Stars - who host league champions SuperSport United at Goble Park tomorrow - are about to discover what life will be like without the burly striker.

Sibisi is said to have attracted the attention of league runner-ups Ajax Cape Town who are thought to have tabled an offer of R1,5million.

Against United, who started the second part of the season with a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates on Saturday, Steve Komphela's side will have to put aside the off-field distractions.

Stars won their last match 3-2 against AmaZulu and have designs on a far higher position than their current 13th spot.

As much as Stars need the goals, they would be well advised not to expose themselves, since Matsatsantsa are masters at absorbing pressure before striking and then jealously guarding the lead to the end.

The match kicks off at 3.30pm.
