The Limpopo town of Burgersfort is the new frontier in the was against cholera.

Authorities have confirmed that a man has been admitted to a local hospital.

The 32-year-old man fell ill last Thursday and was taken to Dilokong Hospital where he was found to have contracted cholera. The disease has also spread to several villages in the area.

Water affairs spokesman Leah Matlala said: "We are awaiting results of tests done on water from the Steelpoort and Tubatse rivers to see if the cholera started from these rivers."
