Controversial actress-cummusician Khanyisile Mbau is back with Muvhango.
Or is she?
Word of Mouth Productions head Duma ka Ndlovu, who is also executive producer of the soapie, is not speaking to Sowetan.
But several sources said the deal had been signed and sealed and that Mbau would be back as Doobsie.
Mbau's manager, Malcom X, said that as far as he was concerned Mbau was still negotiating with Word of Mouth.
"I am not sure when she will be back but I know they are negotiating with her. She will definitely be Doobsie when she comes back because she cannot be anything else. It wouldn't make sense."
But Mbau, surprisingly, contradicted her manager by denying that she was heading forMuvhango.
"No one has spoken to me," Mbau said. "I thought the part was killed. I must say I wouldn't mind going back. I enjoyed the part."
Muvhango publicist Nonkululeko Ndlovu also denied the news. She said Mbau had stopped working at Muvhango a long time ago.
She abruptly hung up.
Mbau took over from Lindiwe Chibi as Doobsie in Muvhango in 2005 after Chibi was shot, but was fired after a few months.
