No sooner had Mamelodi Sundowns announced they had put three of their players on transfer, than other PSL teams started circling around Chloorkop.

Sundowns have announced that they have put Elias Ngwepe, Bryan Aldave and David Kannemeyer on transfer. While the departure of Ngwepe and Kannemeyer was not a complete surprise, the Uruguayan striker's parting appears to be about making space for Collins Mbesuma.

Downs already had their full quota of foreign players - Esrom Nyandoro, Jorge Acuna and new signings Dario Monterio and Sydney Plaatjies - and someone had to make way for Mbesuma.

Wits University are rumoured to be keen on Aldave joining them, though coach Roger de Sa flatly denies it.

"It would be great to have him, but no, we are not interested. I would definitely like some of their players, but we cannot afford any of them at the moment, now can we?" said De Sa.

Ngwepe has been linked with his former club Bloemfontein Celtic for some time now, though both Celtic and Sundowns communications managers Sello Nduna and Mahlatse Mphahlele denied any kind of approach been made.

"We currently have four new players and at the moment I do not know anything about us trying to get him," said Nduna.

Meanwhile, Cape Town teams Santos and Ajax Cape Town are said to be keen on Kannemeyer, though Thabiso Mekuto was quick to deny this.

"We already have two players in that position. At some point we thought Brett Evans would leave, but now we have Aidan Jenniker and Evans in that position and as far as I know we won't be needing a left-back," said Mekuto.

Moroka Swallows have added former Kaizer Chiefs defender Fabian McCarthy to the nest on a two-year deal. He comes in for Bevan Fransman who has clinched a four-year contract at Maccabi Netanya in Israel.
