There was no love lost between Pastor Matlaleng Mthunzini of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) and Phumla Maseleng, the man who accused him of sexual assault late last year.
Magistrate ME Komape of the Seshego magistrate's court postponed the matter to July 21 to allow for further police investigations.
Giving his testimony against the former ACDP chief whip, Maseleng, 20, said: "Pastor Mthunzini turned me on my stomach and climbed on top of me.
"I tried to resist but he overpowered me and forced himself on me."
Maseleng said Mthunzini, 28, had anal sex with him without his consent.
Mthunzini is also a preacher at the Total Surrender Church.
The incident allegedly happened on October 21 last year at the house belonging to ACDP provincial leader Modiba Sedibane in Seshego, outside Polokwane.
Mthunzini took the stand yesterday.
He claimed there were people in his party who were conniving against him.
"There is infighting within the ACDP and people want to see me out," he said.
