Besides unity we also have to make Limpopo an economic hub. A number of issues need to be discussed at the coming ANC conference.

Maladministration is rife in government departments. It is caused by inexperienced administrators.

Bribery, dishonesty, wastage and corruption lead to bankruptcy.

One of the biggest problems in Limpopo is that we are tribes and not Limpopo people. Very often ethnicity and loyalties are stronger than an attachment to the province.

Tribalism is related to the ruling elite, who care more about their own interests than the interests of the province and the people.

Politics take precedence over economic problems. Politicians try to escape responsibility for poverty by blaming apartheid.

Education will lift us out of poverty and underdevelopment. There is a shortage of well-trained teachers. Young people who complete their studies and are skilled can't find jobs.

Malaria, TB, bilharzia and malnutrition are widespread. This is intensified by a shortage of hospitals, clinics, doctors and nurses.

These issues should be discussed at the conference.
