A 45-year-old Germiston man was robbed of more than a million rands in cash at his home in Lambton, Gauteng, on Friday night, police said yesterday.
"The man arrived home at 9.30pm, parked his car in the garage and went to sleep," said police spokesman Captain Steady Nawa.
The man, who owns a furniture shop in Germiston, was awoken by two robbers who dragged him to the passage at gunpoint and tied him up with shoe laces.
One suspect kept guard while the other searched the bedroom. They took the money, which was in a box under the bed.
The robbers also took two watches and fled in the man's car.
