Two heavyweights, Osborne Machimana and Emperors Palace, the biggest gaming casino that caters for professional boxing, have joined forces.

Vusi Zwane, the group chief corporate affairs executive of Peermont, which owns the casino in Ekurhuleni, said his company and the current SA heavyweight champion signed vows on Tuesday.

Zwane said their marriage with Machimana, who is guided by Nick Durandt, was for 12 months.

No one was willing to divulge figures.

Zwane added that this soft- spoken 28-year-old boxer from Limpopo would now be known as "Maximus".

Zwane's colleague Bob Yearham said they were proud and excited to be working with the highly respected Machimana whom he described as a world champion in every way.

"I have no doubt that this partnership will enhance his success even further," said Yearham.

"I look forward to working with Emperors Palace," said Machimana who has fought three times at this casino, stopping Jake Els in five, Pieter Cronje in seven and Corrie "Sniper" Sanders in one round.

Machimana has modelled himself on the American boxing legend, former WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight undisputed champion Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe for many years.
