A special group of parents are due to be honoured nationwide through the 2008 Absa and Sowetan Early Childhood Development (ECD) Awards in Gauteng in June.
Absa is running the yearly Early Childhood Development Awards together with Sowetan, the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation, South African Congress for Early Childhood Development, Department of Education, Office of the Rights of the Child in the Presidency and SABC Education.
Provincial and national finalists and winners stand to win various prizes for achievement and excellence in categories including:
l ECD practitioner of the year;
l Home-based care centre of the year;
l Community-based care centre of the year; and
l For resource and training centre of the year.
