Dingaan Thobela thinks he is about to unveil an equally talented drawcard.

Dubbed "Rose of Soweto" and a huge crowd favourite and winner of two world titles, Thobela is now a member of -Knockout Boxing Promotions.

His colleagues Jeff Ellis, Allan Young and Philip Silver believe that their debutante could become the biggest drawcard from Johannesburg's southern suburbs.

Jared "The Storm" Lovett will engage in an eagerly awaited first fight in the professional ranks at Emperors Palace next Wednesday.

So hopeful are Ellis, Thobela, Young and Silver that they think ardent fight fans from Rosettenville, Turfontein and Kenilworth, will pack the 2-500-seater Centre Court venue , to the capacity.

Their tourney will be a box-and-dine affair.

Ellis announced that former SA middleweight champion, Anthony van Niekerk, would top the bill in an international eight- rounder against Brazilian Osmar Texeira.

Another former national champion, Khotso Motau, who prefers to be called "Masterpiece", will fight Zimbabwean Farayi "Sonny Payne" Musiyaa over eight rounds in the super middleweight division.

This will be a perfect warm-up fight for Motau, the former SA middleweight undefeated champion. He has already been approved to oppose Tshepang Mohale for the vacant national super middleweight belt that was relinquished by William "Dynamite" Gare last month after he won the WBF strap.

Musiyaa is the ambidextrous fighter who made his debut here in March last year when he pulverised Johannes Pieterson. Six months later, the foreigner, whose skills are honed here by Steve Castle, drew with Rupert van Aswegen in their hard-fought eight rounder.

Interestingly, Casle will make his professional debut as a fighter in another bout.

Graham Diedricks and Lee Dyer will also showcase their skills.
