Just-Ice melts back into radio with Kaya FM

Top breakfast DJ Justice "Just-Ice" Ramahlola is joining Kaya FM again after five years of radio wilderness.

As from January 13 he will be in the hot seat from 6am to 9am on Saturdays. He will also host a slot from noon to 3pm on Sundays.

Just-Ice is a former Metro FM breakfast show host.

He left Metro about five years ago under acrimonious circumstances with the station's management.

He later joined Igagasi FM in Durban. Last year when he left the station, there were rumours that he was rejoining Metro as a breakfast show host at the instigation of Bob Mabena, head of commercial broadcasting at the SABC.

That, however, fell through.

Kaya FM programmes manager Neil Johnson confirmed yesterday that the darling of breakfast radio was indeed rejoining the station where he made a name for himself before being head-hunted by Metro FM. Johnson could, however, not confirm or deny that Just-Ice is earmarked to fill in the slot left by Pat Cash who was fired late last year.

"Yes, Justice is rejoining Kaya FM. But as to whether he is one of the people we are currently talking to to host the breakfast show, that I cannot talk about as we are currently talking to a number of people. We will make an announcement soon," Johnson said.
