Police in KwaZulu-Natal have launched a manhunt for two men who entered a Greenwood Park Post Office on Tuesday pretending to be customers.
While inside, they pulled out guns and made off with R6000 in cash.
The incident happened soon after 11am.
Police spokesman Inspector Michael Read said: "Staff members were held at gunpoint but fortunately nothing was taken from them except the R6000.
"The men then fled in a getaway car that was waiting for them within the post office's precinct."
Read said no injuries were reported and that no arrests have been made.
l The incident happened just 24 hours after police shot and killed a man believed to be the mastermind behind the robbery at the Pavilion shopping mall last month.
A police officer was shot five times during the incident, but survived.
Police acted on a tip-off and raided 31-year-old Tupa Mbonambi's home in Malvern, outside Durban, on Monday night.
Mbonambi and three others allegedly robbed a jewellery shop at the shopping mall. They made off with watches worth R1,5 million and R46000 in cash. Another suspect was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport with two stolen watches. Police say they are expecting to make more arrests soon.
Meanwhile, Mbonambi's family is considering legal action against the police for what they call "a reckless killing".
lOn Wednesday last week, three men robbed a foreign exchange office in Musgrave shopping centre.
Four people including a robber were seriously injured in the incident.
After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, they ran off, and, while fleeing, police cornered and apprehended all three of them.
One of the suspects had jumped out from a seventh floor window. He fractured his leg and had facial injuries. One of the injured shoppers had been stabbed three times in his back, one woman was stabbed in the arm and leg while another woman was assaulted.
Police said they believe a gang of robbers are targeting malls at this time of the season because of the influx of people who do most of their Christmas shopping during this time of the year.
