Enrolling most children at education institutions nowadays seems like taking a horse to the river and forcing it to drink.

Enrolling most children at education institutions nowadays seems like taking a horse to the river and forcing it to drink.

Some kids just don't have any interest in learning and preparing themselves for a bright future.

We recently published stories of children indulging in alcohol, attending wild parties and going to the movies during school hours.

Now, nearly a month after we reported that at least 100 girls were pregnant at Masiqakhaze High School in Tembisa in Ekurhuleni, a 17-year-old pupil gave birth on the lawn of Bokamoso High School in Tembisa on the East Rand on Monday.

What is more shocking is that the child is her second - at that age. This is a terrible state of affairs.

Unless parents urgently take tough disciplinary measures, they will have to shoulder the blame of having created a generation of doom.
