Prominent black shareholders in Zalatex, the company at the core of the faulty condom controversy, are yet to respond to Sowetan questions about their roles in the empowerment company.

Repeated efforts to get comment from them have drawn nothing but stony silence.

High-profile shareholders include businessman and academic Bongani Khumalo, businessman Zach Tshikalange, Funeka Ndungane, a niece of Anglican Archbishop Njonkonkulu Ndungane, and chief executive Jeffrey Hurwitz.
