Beauty pageants have come a long way in this country, creating lucrative careers for shrewd and astute young women who use the opportunity as a stepping ladder to better things.

So if you are a dreamer who has set her heart on visiting exotic countries and rubbing shoulders with influential people, this is your opportunity to check out the Miss SA Teen. It will be held at the Sun City Superbowl in North West at the end of the year.

Sassy teenagers who think they have it in themselves to take the universe and world by storm should get entry forms at the Cameroon, Morgan, Exclusive Dry Cleaners, Camelot Spa, Dream Nails, Gary Rom Hairdressing Salons and Huisgenoot, You, Drum magazines and Sun International resort or casino.

The closing date is August 30.

Wearing the crown and title of Miss SA Teen comes with conditions like being single, never been married and never given birth. You should also not be pregnant. Being engaged is also out of the question. You must also be a South African citizen.

Entrants will also be required to provide a copy of their ID document, a copy of a birth certificate or a valid South African passport. Wannabes will also need to include head and shoulders and swim-wear photographs with their entry forms. Entrants must be taller than 1,64m.

Aspirant Miss SA Teen finalists will be required to perform a limited number of engagements.

It therefore goes without saying that a finalist will not be eligible to enter another national competition except with the written permission of Miss South Africa Teen (Pty) Limited.

Miss SA Teen contestants should be at least 15 years old, but not older than 18 on November 1.
