Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
He might have been overshadowed by Afro-pop star Ntando, but Ringo Madlingozi still rocks.
That was apparent at the weekend when Madlingozi staged his own concert at Bassline, Newtown. His fans filled the venue to capacity to see their favourite singer live.
The event started 35 minutes late and the fans were becoming impatient. The man dubbed the King of Xhosa ballads sent the fans into a frenzy when he came on stage.
I have to admit Madlingozi has really matured when it comes to performances.
Born Sindile, Madlingozi is a gifted vocalist, drummer, percussionist and guitarist. He is also a songwriter, producer and arranger of brilliant music.
He performed most of his favourite songs including Buyisa, Nanini na, Hey Ntombi, Into Yam, Hloniphani,Thula, Sondela, Hell, Baleka, UDoli, and Ekuseni. The singer kept them dancing the whole night and singing along to his famous songs.
During his performance, Madlingozi had surprises for his fans. He introduced Mathapelo who showcased her voice. That was before he invited Thembisile Ntaka to the stage to sing Ndi Nje.
When the concert ended at midnight people were still asking for more. His dancer and backing vocalist Nomfundo Dlamini, who has worked with Ringo for many years, did what she does best. She entertained audiences with her unique dancing skills.
