At a time when our nation has to be on high alert against the ravages of the HIV-Aids pandemic, Hlomla Dandala has confessed he had "forgotten" to use a condom during his sexual escapades.
It is mind-boggling to say the least to hear one of our so-called role models give such a lame excuse for his infidelity. Especially one who interacts with viewers on national television
What is also disturbing is that, with his illustrious background, he has been able to secure roles to play "the righteous man of the cloth" in documentaries in which he has featured.
That TV sets are described as "idiot boxes" in many quarters is lent credence by his antics.
Doubtless, he will continue to wield unsolicited influence over young minds addicted to the medium.
It is clear that many pretenders to the throne of being role models like Dandala, are making efforts to stem the tide of the HIV-Aids pandemic a joke.
However, it is also clear that, in his priestly roles and his quest to mislead the public, Dandala's dictum should be: " Don't do as I do; do as I tell you," .
It is an indictment on him and his ilk that the debate continues as to whether he has three or four children with different mothers. Shame on you.
