Tsvangirai becoming a martyr

I do not support the violence and assaults against the MDC's Morgan Tsvangirai and his supporters in Zimbabwe, allegedly sanctioned by President Robert Mugabe.

I do not support the violence and assaults against the MDC's Morgan Tsvangirai and his supporters in Zimbabwe, allegedly sanctioned by President Robert Mugabe.

I have never liked Tsvangirai or his party. To me he represents those blacks who are used by their white masters - the former colonialist club and supporters of US imperialist policies - to undermine Africa's independence and sovereignty.

They are used to undermine blacks in power to prove that blacks are generally incompetent and can only be competent if the rules are set and determined by the former colonialist club and the US.

I support Zimbabwe's land restitution, but the methods are making Tsvangirai a martyr.

The South African government must abandon its silent diplomacy, whatever that means, and act swiftly in the interest of stability in Zimbabwe and the region.

President Thabo Mbeki must use his leadership skills and his wisdom to urgently set up a dedicated task team in consultation with other SADC members to help resolve the conflict.

Our cabinet's resolution condemning the assaults is not enough.

We need decisive action by South Africa, as a leading SADC member.

I am willing to help to resolve the conflict amicably.

Lesego Mogotsi, Tshwane
