Sick buffoon

HOT on the heels of commemorating the anniversary of Steve Biko's visionary student leadership comes depressing news out of a Soweto school.

You will read elsewhere in the paper today that a hothead called Moeketsi Matsepe was arrested at the high school in Moletsane for disrupting preliminary examinations.

He clearly speaks only for himself and his ilk when he claims they are not ready to write.

The learners his myopic conduct forced to eventually write under police guard are cognisant of the importance of education in their future and will stop at nothing to realise their dreams.

The teeny-weeny sicko and his coterie have threatened to burn police vehicles in their resolve to avoid sitting for exams. He should rather devote the energy to preparing, to paraphrase him, to write to pass.

And, by the way, who elects such buffoons to positions of leadership? The only direction they can lead others is astray.
