British apple store to be renamed
The success of the Apple technology company is making life harder for sellers of real apples. An apple shop in the English county of Norfolk is being renamed because it keeps getting mistaken for the computing giant.
Shop owner Geoff Fisher told the BBC that he was getting up to two dozen calls per week about iPhone and iPads.
He suspects the confusion is because Apple opened a shop in the neighbouring city of Norwich in 2009 and his shop near the small village of Wroxham has the same telephone prefix as Norwich.
The shop, which has been selling apple juice and cider for 20 years, will be renamed from April as the Norfolk Cider Shop. There was no pressure from the US company, Fisher stresses.
