Zille suspended from DA party activities

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille has been suspended from all party activities‚ pending the outcome of her disciplinary hearing‚ Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane said on Saturday.

He was briefing the media after a meeting of party’s federal executive.

Zille’s disciplinary hearing is over her tweets about colonialism and its benefits.

Maimane said he found Zille’s tweets deeply offensive but did not believe she is a racist.

The workers are united… against Zuma and ZilleJZ and HZ must both fall‚ says Cosatu in the Western Cape‚ which will march on Workers Day calling for the removal of President Jacob Zuma and Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.

Maimane says the DA had‚ on many occasions‚ tried to resolve the Zille matter.

“I’ve asked premier Zille to tender an unconditional apology to people of South Africa and to the DA. She’s declined‚” he said.
