OPINION: Guptas are like the white people who came to exploit us

Everyone who is not a fool can see that President Jacob Zuma wants to replace Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan or his deputy Mcebisi Jonas with Brian Molefe.

Zuma wants to reshuffle his cabinet before December because he is anxious that, come January next year, a new chief will be occupying his seat in Luthuli House.

If the new president is not Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Zuma might be ejected from the Union Buildings early next year. He is aware that the majority of South Africans are sick and tired of him.

There is serious pressure on Zuma to make hay while the sun shines. The Guptas are breathing down his neck, to goad him into clinching big deals before he is out of office.

The Guptas cannot stop drooling when they visualise a nuclear deal with the Russians. The trouble is that Gordhan does not want to sign, which is why they want him removed as soon as possible.

From the former public protector's "State of Capture" report, we know that Molefe has been good to the Guptas - hence their attempts to fast-track him into Treasury.

The first thing Molefe would do at Treasury would be to invite the Russians to come and build nuclear power stations in South Africa.

Were that to happen, the great grandchildren of Molefe, Zuma and the Guptas would be rich long before they are born. Your grandchildren would carry the heavy burden of unaffordable electricity.

That is what thieves do when they run a state. They don't care about what happens to ordinary citizens. Their priority is to fill their pockets. They don't hesitate to destroy a country.

There is only one intangible but powerful thing stopping Zuma from smuggling Molefe into cabinet - public opinion.

Zuma and the Guptas don't sleep. They work round the clock to try and make you believe that Gordhan and Jonas are blocking "radical socioeconomic transformation".

To spread this propaganda, the Guptas have hired useful black instruments that include top politicians and so-called activists.

These people are well paid. They live in million-rand houses and drive very expensive cars.

Their propaganda is very profitable, which is why they shout at the top of their voices trying to discredit Gordhan. They now call him impimpi. The madder they sound, the more they are paid.

The Guptas' TV channel, ANN7, is a good instrument for this propaganda. There they are given unlimited airtime to rubbish Gordhan and others. A day hardly passes without them mentioning their bogeyman - white monopoly capital.

These propagandists have convinced themselves that, in our sleep, we black people are haunted by the ghost called white monopoly capital.

To bribe us into acquiescence, the propagandists have appropriated another phrase: radical socio-economic transformation.

What they don't tell you is that these hired hands do not share their expensive houses with you.

You are also not told that the Guptas are foreigners from India who came to South Africa in the early 1990s to amass wealth. The Guptas are not different from white people who came from overseas to exploit our resources.

Historically the attitude of imperialists has been that black people are stupid, and therefore that they are free to loot our resources without hindrance.

Don't be fooled by the mask of blackness worn by the Guptas; they too are imperialists who think that black people are stupid.

We are reminded by history that white slave traders bought black slaves from African chiefs. The Guptas are doing the same; they use our own black people to capture our state and loot our resources.

To reclaim our lost humanity, we black people must expose and ostracise those who use their dark skin to commit acts of treachery against us.

When we expose these hired hands, we must equally exert tremendous pressure on Zuma never to get Molefe into cabinet.

If people like Cyril Ramaphosa and the so-called progressive ministers are on our side, they must tell Zuma that they will all resign the day Molefe sets foot in the Union Buildings.

While Blade Nzimande and Jeremy Cronin are clearly protecting their own stomachs, we must welcome their show of boldness by daring their cabinet boss in public.

As for us ordinary people, we must continue to call radio stations and write to newspapers to make Zuma and the Guptas aware that we are watching every move they make, and that we shall rise the day they take their madness to the highest level.

When South Africa has been destroyed, the Guptas will jump into their private jet and fly to Dubai.

We black people will be left behind with empty stomachs.

Where will we go?
