A police constable was arrested after shooting and killing his wife‚ and the man he suspected of having an affair with her.

The incidents‚ according to SANParks spokesperson William Mabasa‚ took place on Friday in the Kruger National Parks (KNP).

 “The incidents took place… in the staff living quarters and at a temporary contractors’ site.

“Skukuza doctors rushed to the scenes but were unable to save the victims. Police are currently investigating the incidents‚” Mabasa said.

Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson Moses Dlamini said: “The policeman suspected the contractor of having an affair with his wife. He shot him multiple times. He also shot his wife.”

The police constable was arrested on the same day and charged with two counts of murder.

“He appeared in court yesterday [Monday] in absentia because he was admitted to hospital for a medical condition‚” he said.

The police officer will appear again in court next Monday for a formal bail application. – TMG Digital
