Cope to do a ‘frank and honest assessment’ after poll loses

The Congress of the People (Cope) has asked a professor‚ a political analyst and a trade unionist to help it unravel the reasons for its “massive loss of support”.

Raymond Suttner‚ Ebrahim Fakir and Thobile Ntola‚ respectively‚ are to address the party’s three-day meeting which will be an “introspection on the results of the local government elections” which took place on August 3.

Cope will be also be looking at why it lost support in “the national election of 2014”.

A party statement said this weekend’s meeting will “give a very frank and honest assessment of the party”.
