Modise's man killed in R1.3 million cash heist

The International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) will have to find refuge in the scripture Timothy 6:9, which reads: "For love of money is the root of all evil."

Another good reference for them would be Psalms 119:61, which reads: "The bands of the wicket have robbed me."

That's because the church's elders were robbed of R1.3-million in cash by unknown gunmen on the Golden Highway in Soweto on August 7.

In a scenario akin to the wild west, one of the church's disciples, Mashudu Mulaudzi, was shot and killed when 12 armed tsotsis in three cars pounced on the servants of God.

They were on their way to deposit the money at a bank at OR Tambo International Airport.

Mashudu was buried in his home in Venda, Limpopo, on Friday.
