A fire that broke out in a house in the northern Johannesburg suburb of Rosebank on Saturday morning has been extinguished.
A spokesperson for Johannesburg’s emergency services said no casualties had been suffered in the blaze‚ which started in the kitchen of the house.
A thick pall of black smoke‚ which could be seen from the Times Media building‚ hung over the western areas of the plush residential and business district while firemen battled the blaze.
It is not known how the fire started or what the extent of damage to the house was.
