Police are investigating after a human skeleton was found on the side of Fleet Street just metres from the East London Police Station.
Buffalo City Metro grass cutters made the grim discovery at 11am on Wednesday‚ police told the Daily Dispatch at the scene.
The remains comprise a skull which was found a metre from the rest of the body which had been hidden by bush.
There was a hole in the side of the skull‚ although it is unclear at this stage whether this was the cause of death.
