Manyoni has had a directorship at Maluju Civil Engineering.

Another nominee who made it to the list is Bernard Peter Agulhas‚ the CEO of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors. He boasts a strong background in accounting‚ banking and finance. Agulhas has served in a number of senior positions including as technical advisor in the International Federation of Accountants and as the project director of the SA Institution of Chartered Accountants.

One other interesting nominee is Raymond Edward Chalom. During the early stages of South Africa’s democracy‚ Chalom objected to the adoption of the Constitution “due to the failure to take into consideration the principle of the Separation of Powers”.

There are currently 59 names of nominees for the position of new public protector as the other seven have declined the nominations. The public has until July 8 to make objections to any of the candidates.
