The Economic Freedom fighters took some time off on Thursday to share a traditional meal at the abaThembu royal home – and the “people’s bae” Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was snapped flashing his famous smile at the offerings.
In a picture posted on social media site Twitter‚ Ndlozi along with the party’s MP Floyd Shivambu and even commander-in-chief (CiC) Julius Malema are seen munching away.
The meal looked like a mixture of slaughtered beef‚ mala mogodu and skop — popular traditional African cuisine.
The EFF was touring the Eastern Cape on Thursday for a meeting with traditional leaders and to hold public community meetings.
Before their lunch‚ Malema and team visited and addressed the royal family of abaThembu and community of Cofimvaba before proceeding to Queenstown for a community meeting.
Twitter users found a light-hearted side to the Fighters’ luncheon:
“Haai‚ CIC can’t be eating that‚ he is on a diet mos‚” said Tshepo Maganedisa @tmaganedisa.
“Comb rate you eat a very good meat ne straight meat from real cow not the who is comes butchery‚” (sic) added Sibusiso @mosmota03.
TMG Digital reported earlier this week that Malema is “on a weight-loss and diet programme” and has even joined a gym.
