Victims of horror Limpopo taxi crash all Wits students

The eight people who were killed in a horror minibus taxi crash near Mokopane in Limpopo on Sunday evening were all understood to be students from the University of the Witwatersrand‚ according to the province’s transport department.

Six people were injured the accident. The group‚ who were believed to all be from Wits University were apparently en route to Polokwane for a church pilgrimage‚ Limpopo transport department spokesperson Kagiso Mootane said.

The taxi caught fire near the NYL plaza toll-gate on the N1 freeway after hitting the trailer of an overturned truck.
