Six people‚ among them two children‚ were killed in a collision between two light vehicles on the R37 between Heilbron and Sasolburg in the Free State on Saturday night‚ paramedics said.
According to eye witnesses‚ one of the vehicles allegedly swerved onto the oncoming lane and then collided head on with the other vehicle‚ ER24 emergency medical service said.
“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that amongst the deceased patients were a seven-year-old boy and a teenage girl of about 14. One person survived the collision – a pregnant woman.
“ER24 paramedics treated and transported the woman to Sasolburg Provincial Hospital for further treatment‚” ER24 said.
