A Motherwell teenager‚ whose mother believed she was possessed by demons‚ was found chained to a pillar at the St John’s Church two days after the woman asked the church to perform an exorcism.
The 13-year-old girl‚ whose identity is being withheld for her protection‚ was rescued by Port Elizabeth police last week after her two-day ordeal following a tip-off from a concerned resident.
She was chained up after trying to run away from the church.
While church members confirmed the incident‚ the church’s leaders – understood to be a couple – are out of town and could not be reached for comment.
The young girl was taken to the blue and white church building by her mother last Wednesday.
