Jaxa frustrates efforts to wind up Mkwaiwa estate

The drama that dogged celebrity couple Tina Jaxa and her late businessman husband Prosper Mkwaiwa is not over.

Sowetan has learnt that efforts to wind up Mkwaiwa's estate have allegedly been frustrated by Jaxa.

An insider close to the situation said lawyers were looking for Jaxa to come and sign legal documents.

"Since the funeral, she has not been to their office not even once. She always says she will come sign but does not. She is the only one left to sign and because of this, bills cannot be paid," said the insider.

Mkwaiwa died of an undisclosed illness in February. At the time of his death, he was still legally married to Jaxa even though they had been separated for about 10 years. Mkwaiwa was in a traditional union with musician and socialite Tina Dlangwana at the time of his death.

However,whenhedied, Mkwaiwa was allegedly no longer livingwithDlangwanahehad kicked her out following a tiff.

Sowetan has learnt that Jaxa allegedly sold Mkwaiwa's vehicle after his death and that his family has now appointed a lawyer to take care of his assets.

The Mkwaiwa estate's lawyer, Steve Sekwele, said the man in possession of the late businessman's car told them that it had been sold to him although they had not received documentation of the transaction.

"It is currently parked in the man's house in Bronkhorstspruit.

"After the funeral, the family met with us and it was agreed that both Tinas must sign the nomination forms along with his parent. Everyone signed and the only person holding the process back is Tina Jaxa," Sekwele said.

"She advised that we should contact her attorneys but she failed to provide their details. She must either provide us with her legal representatives' details or come to our offices to sign in so we can appoint the executor."

Sowetan tried over four days to reach Jaxa She also did not respond to SMSes sent to her.
