Two people were killed and five others injured in a collision between two vehicles on the R617 outside Howick in the Kwazulu-Natal Midlands early on Sunday morning‚ ER24 emergency medical service reported.
“When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found debris from the car involved spread over several metres. The car was badly damaged. The bakkie involved in the collision had gone down an embankment into a veld.
“Paramedics assessed the patients. Sadly there was nothing paramedics could do for the front passenger and back passenger of the car. The two men‚ believed to be in their 30’s‚ had succumbed to their injuries. They were declared dead‚” ER24 said.
“All other patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care‚” it added.
