MPs to question ministers over poor workmanship at Nkandla

Police and Public Works ministers Nathi Nhleko and Thulas Nxesi will be questioned by MPs on Wednesday over the shoddy work done at great cost at Nkandla.

The ministers will be attending a meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Police Minister’s Nkandla report‚ parliament said in a statement on Monday on behalf of committee chairperson Cedric Frolick.

“The two Ministers are expected to‚ among other things‚ shed some light on the concerns Committee members have regarding the inflation of prices and poor workmanship which occurred during the security and non-security upgrades at President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla private residence.

“The Committee visited the President’s private residence last Wednesday and found that the money spent on Nkandla was grossly inflated when compared to the quality of the work done‚” the statement read.
