Bad weather has struck comedian Trevor Noah’s Lost in Translation show in Johannesburg.

Noah‚ who shot to world fame when he was announced as the new host of the US Daily Show‚ was due perform at sold-out shows starting at Monte Casino this week. However‚ his flight from America to South Africa couldn’t take off.

“People of Johannesburg. I’m sad‚” he said on his Facebook page this morning‚ alongside a photo of him pretending to wipe away a tear.

“A huge storm in Atlanta has stopped our plane from flying and the pilot didn’t want to fly because he said we shouldn’t die.

“Even though I would risk dying to tell you some jokes‚ I have to think about the lives of the children on this plane and so unfortunately I’m moving today’s show to next week Tuesday 2 June‚” he wrote.

Monte Casino confirmed that tickets could be reissued for next week‚ or refunded at their box office and Computicket.

Noah promised his fans‚ “Come back to Monte Casino on Tuesday and I’ll make sure you get all the jokes and laughter you deserve. Thank you for your love and support. I’ll be home soon.”

Ticket prices for the show range from R250 to R350.
