Former Bafana striker Benni McCarthy was robbed at gunpoint while getting a haircut in Corlett Drive in Melrose, Johannesburg yesterday.

McCarthy arrived  in South Africa yesterday from Paris to appear as an analyst on SuperSport last night.

Three armed men walked into the salon and pointed a gun to his head.

Although there were 9 other customers, McCarthy was the only person robbed.

His Manager, Percy Adams said, “The one guy closed the door and told everyone to sit down and be calm, the other said ‘please give us your watch, earrings and that nice wedding ring’.”

No one was harmed during the robbery
