THE Nedbank courtyard in Sandton was transformed into a runway on Monday night as models and soccer superfans sashayed to display the latest creations.

This was part of the launch of the Nedbank Cup that pits PSL teams against lower division teams.

The competition starts today.

Some 16 fashion designers such as David Tlale, Gavin Rajah (both in absentia), Gert Johan Coetzee, Sylvester Falata, Craig Jacobs of Fundudzi, Paledi Segapo of Palse, Hangwani Nengovhela of Rubicon and Anisa Mpungwe of Loin Cloth & Ashes have been roped in to make garments in tribute to superfans and the vibrant colours associated with soccer teams.

Celebrities, socialites, business heavyweights, musicians, soccer moguls and sport lovers joined dignitaries like Deputy Minister of Sport Gert Oosthuizen at the launch hosted by veteran TV presenter Lunga Williams.
