Malema passionate about 'accumulating knowledge'

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema will complete his degree in politics this year and plans to further his education, much like many of his fellow party leaders.

"I'm left with five subjects, I'm writing them this year," he told Sapa during an interview on Wednesday.

"I will be done with a degree this semester."

However, Malema said he would not stop there and planned on continuing with a post graduate degree.

"Learning goes on. It doesn't stop, especially when you don't do it for job purposes but you do it for accumulation of knowledge and better understanding of issues which are raised academically and politically.

"It is for that purpose really and you don't have to hurry it."

Malema reportedly did not fare well in matric but this has not stopped him.

EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu attained his Masters degree last year in political studies at Wits University, the party's spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was said to be on study leave, and treasurer general Magdalene Moonsamy resigned as an MP to complete her articles in law.

"We in the EFF are actually emphatic about the issues of education," Malema said.

"Many leaders of the ANC who are still very close to me have always emphasised that you must not leave this thing of EFF people getting as many qualifications as possible because you represent the future and therefore that future will have to be led by well-qualified individuals."
