Kelly Khumalo has been the subject of insults on social media since Senzo Meyiwa's death which could be why she pulled a no show at yesterday’s memorial service.

Khumalo had been in hiding since Monday morning when she left her home in Vosloorus.

She was located yesterday at her townhouse which is located just 15 minutes away from where the memorial service took place.

Journalists have remained camped outside the property hoping to get pictures of the songstress and her family members.

Music promoter Chicco Twala's son Longwe, who is believed to be dating Khumalo's sister Zandi, was seen driving into the property in the morning of the memorial service.

He left later in a silver Chrysler Crossfire with a man believed to be Meyiwa's friend.

Two metro police officers arrived at the property to keep an eye on proceedings as journalists climbed on car rooftops to take pictures of Meyiwa's luxury BMW X6 parked on the property.

Meanwhile police have dismissed rumours of extortion efforts from Kelly Khumalo's seized phone (according to ENCA).

This is after reports that a few who are close to the singer had received texts from Kelly Khumalo's number saying that she is in jail and needs to be bailed out.

The Department of Sports in partnership with Gauteng province held a joint memorial service for the three fallen sporting heroes that passed away in October.

Families and friends of Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, Phindile Mwelase and Senzo Meyiwa sat and watched the projector that played the lives and times of the sports stars.

The Meyiwa family came to their senses on Thursday and announced that Khumalo is now welcome to their son’s burial on Saturday.

This comes after a furious Sam Meyiwa, Senzo’s father, declared on media that Khumalo was not welcome and that he would set the police on her should she show up.

Meyiwa's father said that he does not know anything with regards to the killing of his son and would not like to accuse or blame anyone.

One of the seven people that were in the house when Meyiwa got shot told Sowetan LIVE that he cannot make media comments as he is still under investigation for the cold blooded murder of Meyiwa.

“I am not allowed to speak media because I am under investigation,” he said.

Being Meyiwa's friend and shaken after seeing him get shot, the friend seemed lost as he read out Meyiwa's obituary.

Minister Fikile Mbalula then told the congregation that there will buses and trains available to anyone who would like to attend any of the three funerals.
