Men robbed after hook-up at tavern

TWO men who picked up women at a popular Gauteng shisa nyama for a night of sex and drinking were allegedly drugged and robbed.

Tembisa police are now searching for the two women.

The men said they passed out in the early hours of Monday and only recovered on Tuesday to find their car had been stolen.

One of them said he does not recall if he had sex with one of the women they met at Imbizo, also known as Busy Corner, in Ebony Park on Sunday night.

One of the men, Ponko Baloyi, 32, said he asked one of the women to join him and his friend for drinks.

"She said she was with her friend and called her to join us. We decided to go to my friend's place at around 12am where we would continue drinking," said Baloyi.

He said the women asked them to buy condoms on their way in anticipation of a night of bliss.

They then drove to Lidinga Section in Tembisa after buying the condoms and energy drinks at around 2am.

"I sat on the couch with one lady and my friend was in the bed with the other woman, naked. We continued to drink and the woman next to me was also naked but I passed out.

"I do not know if the woman had sex with me or not but when I woke up there were only two condoms inside the box instead of three," he said.

Baloyi said he had no recollection of what happened.

His friend said he had sex with the other woman before he passed out.

"I had sex with the woman on the bed and I passed out after that. I used my own condom that I kept in the house," he said.

The two woke up on Tuesday at about 8am. They suspect the women spiked their drinks.

Baloyi and his friend told Sowetan yesterday they still felt exhausted and drowsy.

"I found myself sleeping on the floor. I do not remember whether I was naked or not. We were locked in and I had to break down the door so we could get out."

He said most of their belongings including shoes, a car, flat screen TV, an iPad, three cellphones, a laptop, wallet and clothes were stolen.

Police spokesman Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said they were searching for the women.

He said they were investigating a case of motor vehicle theft.

Ralidzhivha appealed to the community to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest.

Imbizo owner Rita Zwane said this was the second similar incident brought to her attention.

"It is unfortunate that incidents of this nature took place at our establishment as the patrons allege," she said.

"However this is the second time in 12 years that this kind of incident has been brought to our attention. We take this incident extremely seriously and cooperate fully with the SAPS on any investigation."

She said she agreed to show the victims CCTV footage.
