SONA fashion flops (PHOTOS)

President Zuma is expected to deliver his state of the nation address this evening in Parliament, however that won't the only highlight of the day.

This big event in the political calendar also gives members of parliament a chance to show off their designer outfits. Although many put their best foot forward and always manage to wow crowds with their fashion taste, there are also those who get it horribly wrong.

Here are few fashion disasters we hope will not be repeated tonight.

1. Bad choice of fabric: A good fabric/material can do wonders for one's outfit just like a bad choice can ruin it. Lindiwe Mazibuko's dress would have been perfect in a more.....expensive looking material, something that doesn't crease so easily.

2. The christmas tree effect: Clarah Dikgale looked like she was on a mission to attract bees in this outfit. A bit of colour is good but too much of a good thing......

3. Make an effort: Although outrageous outfits are a no-no, not making any effort is just as bad. Dina Pule looks like she walked out of her house to go buy bread at the spaza shop.

4. Know your body: Wearing clothing that compliments your body shape is also important. Tight fitting clothes are never a good idea for a more .....voluptuous body, just ask Thandile Sonduza.

5. One animal print item per outfit otherwise you end up looking like one of the characters from 'The lion king'.

6. It's good when men make a bit of an effort with their outfits but be careful not to look like you are on your way to the Cape carnival.
