A renowned award winning journalist has been fired and subsequently escorted off the ANN7 property.

Asanda Magaqa was ‘escorted’ out of the Gupta's owned news television station ANN7.

Magaqa tweeted that she had been escorted off her work premises and was unsure if she will receive her monthly salary.

Her first tweet: "Being escorted off the work premises by security... Who ever anticipates that? I can only pray I'll receive my salary on Wed...☹

Her second tweet: "Go placidly amid the noise&haste & remember what peace there may be in silence..."

According to Mail and Guardian, Magaqa’s removal comes after the resignation of Chantal Rutter-Dros who anchors the prime time news.

Apparently Magaqa was escorted off the building following a disciplinary hearing for insubordination.

Former eNCA senior journalist Hajra Omarjee who hosts the popular politics show Political Edge was said to be emotional following the escorting out of her fellow colleague.

Omarjee consoled Magaqa on Twitter and said that she will receive her salary.

Asanda Magaqa @asandamagaqa

Thank u♥I would've fainted, faltered&been crushed long ago if u didn't stand by me. "@HajraOmarjee: I'm sure u will my friend @asandamagaqa"

Omarjee shortly tweeted that she was feeling sick and wanted to go home.

Hajra Omarjee @HajraOmarjee

I feel nauseous, I have a throbbing headache .... I'm going home.

In what appears to be a farewell message, Omarjee thanked Magaqa for making Political Edge the highest rated show.
