NFP's Stanley Dladla dies

NFP national executive member Stanley Dladla has died from cancer, the party said on Saturday.

"It is with deep sense of sadness that I advise the nation of the untimely passing of my comrade and the leader of National Freedom Party, Stanley 'Mgabadeli' Dladla," NFP leader Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi said in a statement.

Magwaza-Msibi said Dladla died on Friday night at a hospital in Durban. She said the cancer was only discovered on Wednesday.

She sent condolences to Dladla's family.

"Comrade Dladla was a brave and tenacious leader. He was a gallant and fearless leader who was never afraid to speak his mind."

Dladla was a member of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature, a former mayor of the uThukela district municipality and a businessman.

He was previously the Inkatha Freedom Party's deputy chairman before joining the NFP in 2012.
